Disturbed drawing is part of LOCAL TIME, a collaborative exhibition with work by Beata Geyer and Lesley Giovanelli. Disturbed drawing uses floor tape to mark out a drawing of the central wall of the gallery to suggest its potential as sculpture as well as architecture. The drawing is designed to interact with its subject by its slight shift in angle at its starting point at the base of the column. The right side of the base of the column is drawn on the floor regardless of the position of the column, and the left side is drawn over the column as if it is continuous with the floor. The rest of the drawing follows the second alternative, leading to its disturbance wherever it leaves the single plane of the floor. |
